A proposal in Paris does not necessarily mean Eiffel tower, crowds, and tourists. Instead, you might be interested in a more intimate setting that still captures the typical Parisian charm, but allows you to experience this romantic moment undisturbed. This is what Arjun had in mind when he reached out to me about his plans to propose to Tara. His intention was to take a walk along the Seine from their hotel to their dinner reservation. My mission: find the perfect proposal location along their route.
Mission accomplished, I would say. I suggested this spot on the banks of the Seine river right next to the famous Pont Neuf. The backdrop features the historic architecture of Île de la Cité, the boats, and of course the golden light of an autumn sunset. A subtle but unmistakenly Parisian setting.
During the day Arjun and I stayed in touch to finalize all logistics details and some practical advice from past experience. Hiding in plain sight, I waited for Arjun and Tara to approach the agreed place. When the moment was right, Arjun fell on one knee and proposed. I captured the moment as discretely as possible, so that Tara can best experience the romance of the moment. Then, I approached the happy couple to congratulate them and we continued with an engagement photoshoot along the Seine.
